Celta Vigo 2-0 Barcelona

Barcelona’s 23-game, six month long unbeaten reign in La Liga is over thanks to a 2-0 loss to Celta Vigo at the Balaidos on Saturday. No one had a real chance to score for either team until the first half and at halftime Barca even though was looking good needed a little bit of pump in the final third. 

As the first half of the game ended in a goal less interval, a great finish by Maxi Gomez for Celta Vigo, had made the home team a start up in 67 minutes. Iago Aspas made the home team's second goal for the night in the 88 minute burying the spot kick to confirm Celta’s victory by winning the penalty after a handball by Moussa Wague. Barca played well enough but couldn’t create any chances.

Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez were among the players to be rested ahead of the trip to Anfield, where the Barcelona is aiming to book their place in the Champions League final for the first time since 2015. Wit the the match Celta Vigo rests at 14, with 40 points while Barcelona is 83 points up top.
